Our school visited Waimapu Marae, where students had the opportunity to learn more about Marae Protocol and Tikanga Maori. We were welcomed on with a powhiri and our local kaumatua shared many stories with us. He spoke about  significant places and iwi, the history of the Marae, historic events and our school's connection to the Marae.

On Thursday 15th May Ryan, Max, Jack, Olivia, Tania and Paris competed in the Year 7/8 Amazing Race at Mauao. Their team work, problem solving and fitness was tested against other teams in the Bay of Plenty. A big thank you to Kate C for being our team support adult.

We were the 3rd team to finish, however there was one question we think we answered wrong and as a result this changed our placing.

Jack-"Some of the questions were harder than others, but at the end of the day it was awesome and I'd love to do it again."
Paris-"The Amazing Race was a great challenge and we worked well as a team."
Ryan and Olivia-"It was great fun and challenging."
Tania-"It was a great experience. I had fun doing all of the activities and working as a team."
Max- "It was awesome and I enjoyed all the activities."
